It is important to find out whether programmes and services have achieved what they set out to do, meeting their targets and delivering their intended outcomes. We have reviewed and evaluated all kind of activities from how heritage organisations serve their audiences to the value of their conservation work.

We undertake qualitative and quantitative evaluation using a variety of methods including email and on-line surveys, administered questionnaires, focus and discussion groups, interactive workshops, telephone and face to face interviews. We use an outcomes-based framework that fits the requirements of major funders such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England. As experienced trainers and mentors, we also aim to enable our clients to carry out more effective evaluation themselves, including front-end and formative evaluation, piloting and user testing.

Our research experience also includes groundbreaking work in evidencing the rationale for securing developer contributions towards cultural infrastructure. This has covered museums, galleries, theatres, libraries and archives at the national level and studies focused on particular geographical areas earmarked for population growth.

We work with national and regional bodies to look at the impact of what they do to fund and support a flourishing heritage sector. It is critical to establish an effective way of reviewing processes, outputs and outcomes and measuring success across a range of activities. We have been instrumental in developing a number of evaluative methodologies and frameworks for national projects.
