Who We Are

Sophia Mirchandani

Sophia has worked in heritage and culture for over 25 years. She has a focus on strategic planning, feasibility and option studies; project and audience development planning. She often works as part of larger design teams, ensuring the visitor experience and audience needs are fully considered within wider development plans. Recent work has involved her in the natural heritage and environment sector, including habitat restoration and programmes aimed at creating advocates for nature, tackling the climate crises or supporting well-being. She is currently on the National Trust London and South East Advisory Board. And a trustee of a space arts and Gods House Tower in Southampton.

As a public engagement consultant for the Heritage Fund for over 20 years, she supports the development and delivery of activity and interpretation plans. She has mentored a number of complex schemes, including Kew Gardens Temperate House, V&A Exhibition Road, NPG ‘Inspiring People’, Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City as well as smaller community development, engagement and volunteer run projects.


Marilyn Scott

Marilyn has worked in museums, galleries and heritage attractions for over 30 years. She has considerable experience in consulting and her areas of specialism include fundraising, income generation and sustainability, strategic and business planning.

She has extensive experience of managing independent organisations within a Trust framework and works with Trustees to improve and enhance governance.

She was formerly Director of the award winning Lightbox in Woking Surrey, winner of The Art Fund Prize.

She led The Lightbox from feasibility study to opening of the building in 2007, having raised £7.2m for the construction and fit out. Marilyn has also worked in national museums, at the V&A and Science Museum and for The National Trust.


Katie Norgrove

Katie has been a freelance consultant for over 15 years.  In her early career she worked for Birmingham Museums Trust and then developed national policy, major partnerships and funding initiatives at DCMS, the former MLA and The National Archives. Since founding CCN with her colleagues, her work has focused on strategic planning, project development, business planning and evaluation, alongside activity and interpretation planning. She often works as part of a major project team supporting the organisational and people based elements of the proposals.

 Recently, she has acted as client advisor  working between Boards and the professional design team in project development, turning around projects to render them more sustainable and, hence, make a good case for investment.

 She has been a NLHF public engagement consultant for 15 years with a wide range of commissions undertaken across many heritage sectors and at different scales from the Imperial War Museum’s Second World War and Holocaust Galleries Redevelopment, the Science Museum’s Medicine Galleries to the ‘Everything to Everybody’ Library of Birmingham and “A Bigger Picture” London Screen Archives. She is a Trustee of ArteProArte.


Natalie Chambers

Natalie has wide experience of helping and supporting museums, heritage sites and galleries to inspire and engage visitors of all ages. Through her work, she has enabled national, regional and volunteer-led organisations to develop audience centred planning and create exhibitions, programmes and resources.
