Fundraising Plan and feasibility study for a new National Cataloguing Grants Scheme for Archives,
July 2007 (launch 2008). Research of funding sources, with initial testing of interest from trusts and foundations followed by the development of a phased fundraising plan for the first ever national grants scheme for the cataloguing of archives in the UK.
Client: The National Archives, The Pilgrim Trust and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation

Review and evaluation of the administration and outcomes of a pilot Cataloguing Grants Scheme for Archives, June 2007. A detailed evaluation of whether the pilot grants assessment process was effective and whether the outcomes of project grants met the objectives of the scheme.
Client: The National Archives and The Pilgrim Trust

Research Study into the role of Archives within Tourism, September 2007. A research study which scoped the main ways in which archives contribute to internal and inbound tourism in the UK, concentrating on roots tourism and that associated with people, events and places. The study assessed success factors and potential for developing the archives tourism offer further.

“Public Llibraries, Archives and New Development: A Standard Charge Approach”, September 2007 (publication pending). Working with Professor Martin Elson, Emeritus Professor of Planning, Oxford Brookes University to establish a standard charge for collecting developer contributions for library and archive facilities.

Thames Gateway North Kent Heritage Research, March 2007. An internal report for advocacy purposes and for briefing external stakeholders on the wider policy context for the Thames Gateway North Kent, the role of heritage in meeting the growth area aims, and an assessment of heritage provision and issues with case studies.

“Different Stories: New Perspectives” – involving communities in the collections of museums in Surrey and Sussex, September 2007. Development and production of a £250,000 application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a collaborative audience development project
Client: Pallant House Art Gallery, Chichester in partnership with 16 local authority and independent museums

Assessment and Review of Application Process and Guidance for the first museum, library and archive Designation scheme, August 2005. An evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of the assessment process and guidance to determine whether its design helped the Designation scheme to meet its objectives, with recommendations for changes.
