We have extensive experience of National Lottery Heritage Funding, working across a range of clients and projects, as well as being contracted as expert Consultants working directly to the lottery fund as monitors and mentors.

We often work as part of wider teams including architects, exhibition designers, cost consultants and specialist support, such as archives or conservation architects.

Our services in relation to national lottery heritage funding include:

  • Options and feasibility studies
  • Support for Round 1 applications including project planning and development, writing applications and budgets
  • Research and production of Activity Plans, Business Plans, Interpretation Plans and Evaluation Plans for Round 2 applications.
  • Support for Expression of Interest and applications under new National Lottery Strategic Funding Framework
  • Strategy development, governance, finance and organisational review and business planning as part of Resilient Heritage Grants
  • Fundraising including funding research, fundraising strategies and action plans (with related training and mentoring as required)
  • In addition, we support organisations through the AIM Hallmarks Scheme

Project description

God’s House Tower is a little known historic tower in Southampton. A recipient of NLHF capital funding to convert the tower to a multi-purpose arts and heritage venue to attract new visitors into this part of the city. CCN worked with the highly committed Director during the development phase of the project to construct a case for support for the capital project .CCN then facilitated workshops with the Trustees to explain the projected fundraising strategy and gain their support. CCN then constructed a full fundraising strategy with a timeline and action plan to be carried out by the Director and one part time fundraiser. During the implementation process CCN mentored the Director, assisted in meetings with funders, provided telephone support on a weekly basis and helped in reporting back on progress to Trustees and to NLHF officers. CCN also provided ideas for smaller scale fundraising which could be carried out at local level and Trustees undertook to manage this phase. CCN provided advice on and exemplars of other successful fundraising campaigns from where ideas might be transferred.
